Fall is Coming! And the Holidays will follow

Oh, how I longed for the end of Summer!

I am a winter fiend, so my condolences to all you hot weather lovers. The cool breezes, light sweaters and changing of the leaves are the things I am most looking forward to. And snow. That amazing white fluffy stuff? Definitely want to roll around in it and maybe  do a little snowboarding.

With the cooler weather comes the depletion of moisture from our skin. This is when it yearns for something more than ordinary lotion. Body butter is not just for rough skin, it works wonders in the winter. I use it all the time, even in the summer. (We make Summer Butters too!)

As the holidays get closer, it will be time for the themed products. Last time we did up some scents with Pumpkin, Cranberry, Pine and Gingerbread. Haven't decided what to do yet, but  will keep you posted. I am thinking along the Plums and Myrrh sections. Got some ideas? Sweet! Drop me an email or just comment here and let me know.

For those who are waiting for the sold out Naturally Clean Soap to return, I will be making a new batch this week. Since I am going to do a hot process it instead of cold, they will be ready in two weeks as opposed to eight. I do apologize for the delay. The materials were on back order and I had to wait two extra weeks! (Raises arms in air and shakes fists.) If it makes you feel any better, I use it too and all out so in the same boat.

Until next time, have a great Fall season and buy some Cacere products to make your skin HAPPY!

Wonderful Summer

It's JUNE...finally! Yet, Summer is still trying to beat down the doors here in the Pacific Northwest. Though the sun may not be at its strongest, it still shines bright and that means taking care of your skin as the heat raises this season. Even in summer, your skin needs moisturizing. There is a misconception that body butter is only for the winter. Lotion, even thick ones, just won't cut it for most people with dry skin.

Our Summer Butter is formulated to be just as thick, but with lighter and less ingredients. It stays on throughout the day unlike lotion, which can be applied multiple times. If you want to know more, I have a link you can check out. It is a simple, straight forward explanation.
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-body-butter.htm

As for what to expect this summer, we decided to bring back one of our favorite Dreamcicle Butters: Mixed Berries and Cream. It's light yet playfully fruity and is a great addition to our lineup.

On the Mens front, I am in the process of finding the right packaging for the body sprays. It has been expressed that certain colors are desired, so a hunting I go perusing my wholesalers. The soap bars left to make are Bay Rum and Mountain Spring. All of them (including the sprays) should be ready by July 8, 2014.

Which brings us to this announcement.

Cacere Handcrafted will be at the Aspen Grove Wellness Center on July 12, 2014 for their Ovarian Cancer Awareness event. It is on a Saturday and runs from 9am to 4pm. Please come by to say hello, try some products and have some fun for a great cause.

Hope to see you all there and make sure to stay Happy and Healthy this Summer (and your skin, too!!)

Open Suggestion Season and More

Summer is coming!!!
I know, Spring just arrived, but it is time for Dreamcicle Body Butters.
Picture property of Popsicle/Unilever
Every year I create a small batch of limited edition summer butters inspired by my favorite ice cream treat, Creamsicles.
Soooo....I am open to suggestions for this round. If it goes with cream and sounds yummy, I'm all for it.

Last season we had Coconut Cream, Pears and Cream, and Grapefruit and Cream. One suggestion made so far is Honey and Cream. Almost sounds good enough to eat (please don't try to eat your body butter. It may be all natural and smell awesome but it is not for consumption :-P).

On the Men's side, it has come to my attention they are feeling left out on the body spray front. To remedy this, I will be making body sprays for men to go with the lotion lines. This way a little extra scent can be applied on top of the lotion.

Did someone say soap? Yes, I am working on getting the batches done. Lavender Vanilla (see pic) is done. Pommint and Red Blossoms are in process today. It takes a few weeks for soap to cure so they should be available by May 15, 2014. Crossing fingers and toes. The Men's soap is looking at an ETD of May 21, 2014 since I haven't started them just yet.

Coming Soon...Cinnamon Roll Lip Balm. Thank you LorAnn Oils for having this awesome flavor oil in stock.

Hello Spring!

Although some of you are still feeling Ol' Man Winter out there, it is time to drag out last years boxes and do some Spring Cleaning. Over here at Cacere we did a little clean up of our own by hiring a graphic designer to streamline the product labels. We took them for a spin at the Portland Womens Expo in March and they were a hit. So far we have:

Starting from the back, on the left is our Conditioning Lotion, in the middle is our Bath Salts and on the right, the Everyday Soft line. The row below them shows off our new Body Butter jars. I think they're kind of snazzy. Last but not least, sitting in front are the Sugar and Salt Bath Scrubs

A note on the scrubs; By popular demand we are going to have a line that has each in addition to these.
Salt Scrubs are for getting the grime off and great for acne prone skin. Sugar scrubs are used to polish your skin to silky smooth perfection. If you haven't has chance, check out this link about body scrubs. http://bit.ly/M7dua1
It is also on our Facebook page.

Don't forget, our Summer Dreamcicle Body Butter line is coming up and I am looking for new suggestions on scents. Just think of what sounds sweet and/or refreshing if it were a Dreamcicle. (Can't wait for Summer to get here so I can ditch the heavy hoodies.)

Because we have new labels, the products with the previous ones have to go. All them are on sale at the website www.cacere.com
We appreciate and thank you for coming along for the ride. Check back next week as I attempt to make Brine Soap.

Fun In Sun...For Some?

Happy Summer Everyone!!

It has Finally arrived and boy is it a scorcher. With the heat comes a lot of skin issues: sun damage, dryness and that sticky, sweaty not so fresh feeling. We have all experienced these at some point in our Summer adventures so let's tackle them head on.

Did you know Body Butter is not just for the Winter Season? Its thicker creamier formula is actually great in the warm months because it will penetrate deepen, leaving your skin more conditioned and moisturized. The heat can dry out your skin too. Want to soothe your skin even more? Store your lotions, Body Butters and Creams in the refrigerator. The coolness will feel wonderful as you apply them. Word of warning. The Summer heat can break down the composition of these types of products so do not leave them in your car, in direct sun or in hot humid spaces. Your products will liquefy, especially if they are Organic or All Natural since these do not have the same kinds of preservatives like most commercial products. I lost a two bottles of awesome lotions until I learned my lesson.

It's hot, your all sweaty and wait...that smell can't possibly be coming from yourself! Normally this occurs when you are not at home. Find some nice cool water, wipe down and then use a light Body Mist Sprayer. That way you feel and smell refreshed...not like a perfume shop. Choose a scent like Cucumber Vanilla, Grapefruit & Cream or Japanese Peppermint with Amber. Plus, a little bit goes a long way. You can continue on your day with no worries.

What's that you say? You don't have any Body Butter or Body Mist Sprays? Well, lucky for you, Cacere does. Check us our at www.cacere.com and see which ones catch your eye.  Stay safe, keep cool and drinks lots of water this Summer. Your skin and your body deserves it.

Have a wonderful Summer!

P.S. Look forward to some awesome new products coming in the Fall!

Hello everyone;
Welcome to Cacere Handcrafted Body Products' product news spot.

Valentine's Day is upon us and I had hoped to get more pre-orders this year. Apparently, not many people are in the whole Romance thing even though the world didn't end as expected last year. I do still have a few of the Strawberry Champagne and Smooth Seduction Mini Kits left. The Romance and Roses kind of went south but I will still make it if there is an order for it. Here's the story on that:

So I made a big batch of body butter in the crock pot and started measuring out the amount for each kit. At some point, it cooled so I turned it back on "warm". Was going fine and went to do the last one, the Romance and Roses, and realized the crock pot was not on warm...it was totally on. Hence, the rest of the batch curdled from the intense heat and had to be tossed. It was a bummer but at least I got two out of three done.
The tea light containers finally came and so now I can get those done. Yay!! Candles are always fun and romantic, right?

This year, I am going to focus on custom pre-orders to alleviate the amount of product creation and cost. The upside of this is the products will change periodically which makes them a specialty and/or you can now pick your scent from our Scent Arsenal and have a custom made product just for you. There will be a minimum total order amount to reach before I make the products because I have to be able to justify the cost.
For everyone with fave products from us, don't fret! We will still have some of our standard items for sale and some new formulas and renamings. Thanks to all the Cacere fans out there and stay tuned for more updates and fun stuff ahead.

(By the way, the product pics ARE coming soon. I actually take my own photos so it is taking more time than I thought. Thanks.)
